Description

Bright & Zesty Lemonade Puppy Chow is a sweet, tangy, and crunchy snack mix. It features crispy cereal squares coated in a creamy lemon-white chocolate glaze, tossed in powdered sugar and lemonade mix. Perfect for summer snacking and parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 9 cups rice square cereal (such as Chex)
  • 1½ cups white chocolate chips
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons powdered lemonade mix
  • Zest of 1 lemon (optional, for extra brightness)

Instructions

  1. Place the cereal into a large mixing bowl, leaving enough room to stir gently without crushing (2 minutes).
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate chips and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted and smooth (2–3 minutes).
  3. Stir in the lemon extract and lemon zest (if using) until evenly combined and fragrant (30 seconds).
  4. Pour the warm lemon-white chocolate mixture over the cereal. Gently fold until every piece is evenly coated (2–3 minutes).
  5. Transfer the coated cereal to a large zip-top bag or container. Add powdered sugar and powdered lemonade mix, seal, and shake gently until fully coated and no wet spots remain (2 minutes).
  6. Spread the puppy chow onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Let it set at room temperature until dry and crunchy (15–20 minutes).
  7. Break apart any clusters and serve in bowls or snack bags (1 minute).
