Ingredients

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups M&M candies, plus extra for topping

Instructions

  1. Gather and measure all ingredients accurately.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Using an electric mixer, beat the softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  5. Slowly add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until incorporated.
  6. Gently fold in M&M candies, reserving a few for topping.
  7. Drop cookie dough by rounded tablespoons onto parchment-lined baking sheets.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 9-11 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
