- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups M&M candies, plus extra for topping
Instructions
- Gather and measure all ingredients accurately.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Using an electric mixer, beat the softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Slowly add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until incorporated.
- Gently fold in M&M candies, reserving a few for topping.
- Drop cookie dough by rounded tablespoons onto parchment-lined baking sheets.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 9-11 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
