Description

Indulge in a creamy and flavorful Seafood Lasagna, a unique twist on a classic Italian dish. This recipe features layers of tender pasta, rich bechamel sauce, smooth ricotta, and succulent seafood, perfect for special occasions or family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese (freshly grated)
  • 10 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 1 large egg (whisked)
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound seafood mix
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 lb lasagna noodles (fresh)
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
  2. Prepare the bechamel sauce: Melt butter in a saucepan, add flour, cook for one minute, then gradually whisk in milk until thickened. Stir in parmesan cheese and set aside.
  3. Prepare the cheese filling: In a bowl, mix ricotta, mozzarella, egg, parsley, and salt until well combined.
  4. Cook the seafood: In a skillet over medium heat, sauté seafood mix with olive oil, salt, pepper, and parsley for about 3 minutes until just cooked through.
  5. Assemble the lasagna: Spread bechamel sauce at the bottom of the dish, add lasagna sheets, top with ricotta mixture and seafood mix. Repeat layers two more times.
  6. Finish the top layer with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake for approximately 35 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Let the Seafood Lasagna cool for several minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a creamier texture, consider adding a splash of heavy cream to the bechamel sauce.
  • Ensure seafood is cooked through but not overcooked to maintain tenderness.
  • Allowing the lasagna to rest before serving helps it hold its shape.
  • This Seafood Lasagna recipe is great for meal prep and can be frozen before or after baking.
