- 1 cup BBQ sauce (divided)
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon chili powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- Burger buns (optional for serving)
Instructions
- In the Instant Pot, whisk together the chicken broth, ½ cup BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper until combined.
- Add the chicken to the sauce mixture and ensure it’s well coated.
- Close the lid and set the valve to sealing. Cook on high pressure for 16 minutes.
- Allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes before venting any remaining steam.
- Check that the chicken has reached an internal temperature of at least 165°F. Remove and shred with forks, mixing in some of the sauce from the pot along with more BBQ sauce if desired.
