Description

Create spooky and delicious Monster Eyeballs Truffles with this easy-to-follow recipe. These no-bake treats feature a creamy Oreo and cream cheese filling coated in colorful candy melts and decorated with candy eyes and sprinkles.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 19.1 ounces family-size package of golden Oreos
  • 3/4 package (8-ounce) cream cheese, room temperature
  • 12-ounce bag of colored candy melts
  • 1/2 cup color-matching sprinkles
  • 24 large candy eyes

Instructions

  1. Place the Oreos in a food processor and crush until they are well-crumbled.
  2. Add the cream cheese to the crushed Oreos and pulse until well combined, achieving a smooth, dough-like consistency.
  3. Use a 1 1/2 tablespoon cookie scoop to scoop out the dough and roll it into balls.
  4. Place each truffle on a large cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for 15–30 minutes or up to an hour to set.
  5. Heat the colored candy melts in a medium mixing bowl in the microwave for 45 seconds, stirring well. Continue heating and stirring in 10–20 second increments until smooth and fully melted.
  6. Dip each chilled truffle in the melted candy until fully coated, then place on a clean sheet of parchment paper.
  7. Press a large candy eye onto the front of each truffle and sprinkle matching sprinkles on top.
  8. Allow the truffles to set in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or until the candy coating has hardened.

Notes

  • You can use different flavored Oreos for a twist.
  • These truffles can be made a few days in advance.
  • Experiment with different colored candy melts for various spooky looks.
  • Place truffles in the freezer for 10-15 minutes to help them set faster.
  • Using room-temperature cream cheese is recommended for easier mixing.
  • Candy melts can be substituted with melted chocolate, though the coating may be less vibrant.
  • Ensure truffles are well-chilled before dipping and coat them quickly to prevent cracking.
  • Sprinkles are optional but add a fun effect.
  • Other fillings like peanut butter or Nutella can be used.
  • This is a fun recipe for kids to help with.
