Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices thick-cut bread (brioche or Texas toast recommended)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Butter or oil, for cooking
  • Maple syrup or preferred dipping sauce, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and sugar until smooth and well combined.
  2. Trim the crusts from each thick-cut bread slice, then cut each slice into 3-4 sticks about one inch wide.
  3. Dip each bread stick into the egg mixture, letting it soak for about 20 seconds.
  4. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt butter or oil. Arrange the soaked sticks and cook for 2-3 minutes per side.
