Crispy Cheesy Beef Taquitos: An Amazing Ultimate Recipe
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
- 10–12 small flour tortillas
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Optional toppings: sour cream, guacamole, salsa
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the shredded cheese until melted and well combined.
- Warm the tortillas in a microwave or on a skillet for a few seconds to make them pliable.
- Place a few tablespoons of the beef and cheese mixture on each tortilla. Roll tightly, securing the filling inside.
- In a large frying pan, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Carefully place the rolled taquitos seam side down in the hot oil. Fry until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove the taquitos from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Continue frying the remaining taquitos until all are cooked.
- Enjoy your crispy taquitos with your favorite dips!
Notes
- Allow the oil to heat properly for crispy results.
- Do not overcrowd the pan while frying.
