Chocolate Molten Lava Cakes are a rich and indulgent dessert with a gooey center.

- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
- Fresh berries, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust them with flour.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips. Melt in 30-second increments, stirring until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg yolks, and granulated sugar until well combined and slightly thickened.
- Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture and stir until fully incorporated.
- Gently fold in the flour, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until just combined.
- Evenly divide the batter among the prepared ramekins.
- Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center remains soft.
- Remove from the oven and let the cakes cool in the ramekins for about 5 minutes.
- Carefully run a knife around the edges of each cake and invert onto individual plates.
