Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite thick, tangy variety)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, beaten egg, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently with your hands or a spoon until just combined to keep the meat tender.
  2. Roll the mixture into uniform balls about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter, packing them firmly but not too tight. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat with a drizzle of oil. Brown the meatballs on all sides for 5-7 minutes in batches, they do not need to be fully cooked yet.
  4. Pour barbecue sauce over the browned meatballs in the skillet, cover, and simmer gently for 10 minutes, allowing the meatballs to cook through and absorb the sauce.
  5. When meatballs reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) and the sauce has thickened, remove from heat and serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
