- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup applesauce
- 1/2 cup apple cider
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1–2 tbsp water, milk or more apple cider
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- pinch of nutmeg
- 2 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together oat flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves.
- In another bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, applesauce, apple cider, vanilla extract, and eggs until fully combined.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Spoon batter into cupcake liners, filling them two-thirds full.
- Bake for 20–22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow cupcakes to cool before frosting with spiced buttercream.
