Description

A delightful fusion of classic candy apples and strawberry shortcake, these treats offer a sweet, crunchy, and fruity experience perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 Granny Smith apples
  • 6 wooden sticks or decorative straws
  • 3 cups white chocolate melting wafers
  • ½ cup strawberry-flavored candy melts
  • 1 cup Golden Oreo cookies, crushed
  • 1 cup freeze-dried strawberries, crushed
  • Fresh strawberry slices (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the Granny Smith apples. Insert a wooden stick or decorative straw into the top of each apple.
  2. Melt the white chocolate melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-30 second intervals, stirring until smooth and creamy.
  3. Dip each apple into the melted white chocolate, rotating to coat evenly. Allow excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl.
  4. While the chocolate is still wet, dip the bottom half of each apple into the mixture of crushed Golden Oreos and freeze-dried strawberries.
  5. Place the coated apples on parchment paper to set.
  6. Melt the strawberry-flavored candy melts separately using the same method as the white chocolate.
  7. Drizzle the melted strawberry candy melts over the coated apples to create a striped design.
  8. Allow the candy apples to harden completely at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
  9. Garnish with fresh strawberry slices if desired, gently pressing them onto the chocolate before it sets.
  10. Serve within 1-2 days for the best freshness.

Notes

  • Ensure apples are completely dry for proper chocolate adhesion.
  • For a more pronounced strawberry flavor, use a higher proportion of freeze-dried strawberries in the crumb mixture.
  • Store any leftover candy apples in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
