Mushroom Shepherd’s Pie: An Amazing Ultimate Recipe You Must Try
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups mushrooms, chopped (any variety)
- 1 large onion, diced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup vegetable broth
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon rosemary
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 cups mashed potatoes (prepared)
- 1 cup peas (fresh or frozen)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions, carrots, and celery. Sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add Garlic and Mushrooms: Stir in the minced garlic and chopped mushrooms. Cook until the mushrooms release their moisture and become tender, about 5-7 minutes.
- Season the Mixture: Add the vegetable broth, soy sauce, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.
- Stir in Peas: Add the peas to the mushroom mixture and stir until combined. Remove from heat.
- Prepare the Baking Dish: Transfer the mushroom mixture to a baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Top with Mashed Potatoes: Spoon the mashed potatoes over the mushroom filling, smoothing it out with a spatula. You can create peaks with a fork for a crispy top.
- Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
- Cool: Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving.
